Comedy Nights Bachao row: John Abraham finally speaks up
John Abraham has finally broken his silence on his controversy over television show ‘Comedy Nights Bachao Taaza’. The handsome actor had recently walked out of the show midway, after host Krushna Abhishek made fun of his acting skills.
John had visited the sets to promote his upcoming film ‘Force 2’, along with co-stars Sonakshi Sinha and Tahir Raj Bhasin. While Krushna had immediately tendered a public apology, John had maintained a stoic silence on the issue all this while.
Now, the ‘Dishoom’ actor has spoken up on the entire controversy. Reacting on the same during a promotional event in Mumbai’s Powai John said, “Well I feel I won’t comment on it, nahi toh main sabko zyada importance dunga. But I feel, aksar yeh hota hai ki humein bola jaata hai ki go for so many shows yeh woh… humein wohi karna chahiye jo film ka requirement ho, and I think we stuck to that. Bas utna hi keh sakta hoon.”
‘Comedy Nights Bachao Taaza’ follows a roast format where the hosts joke about the celebrity guests. The jokes often get personal and below the belt.
Not-so-long ago, internationally acclaimed actress Tannishtha Chatterjee also walked out of the show, disappointed and angry, after the hosts made fun of her skin colour. She blasted the show in a strong worded-Facebook post saying it was not ‘roast’ but bullying. Even actors Jacqueline Fernandez, Varun Dhawan, Hrithik Roshan and Akshay Kumar have reportedly refused to promote their films on the show, due to the ‘offensive’ jokes cracked by the hosts on the guests.
The TRP’s of the new season are dipping which has got the makers tensed. There were also reports which claimed that the makers have decided to put an end to the roast format of the show.
