Coca Cola drops Salman Khan, picks up Ranveer Singh

Salman Khan is no longer the face of  Thumps Up. Leading beverage brand Coca Cola dropped Salman Khan as their brand ambassador. He might be replaced by Ranveer Singh. The company is in talks with the ‘Bajirao Mastani’ actor and if everything falls in place then very soon audince will get to see Ranveer Singh advertising from Thumps up.

Salman is associated with Thumps up for four long years. Salman’s contract with the Coca Cola company expired last month and they decided not ot renew it.

It is learnt that the Cola decided to drop Salman Khan due to his growing age and not for his popularity. Coca Cola mainly targets young generation. They relates to youngsters and wants someone who is young and energetic to endorse their product.

"That explains why Coca Cola is talking to a much younger star like Ranveer Singh," the source added.

Coca Cola company roped in Salman Khan as the brand ambassador of Thumps Up for two times. First in 2000 and second time in October 2012 replacing Akshay Kumar.

It is not sure whether the decision of Coca Cola company to drop Salman Khan from endorsing their product has anything to do with his latest comment on Pal artists. But the decision merged with the timing when the superstar spoke in favour of Pak actors working in India. Salman backing Pak artists working in India was highly slammed by some section of the society.

Salman said,”They are artistes not terrorists. It’s the government who gives them permits and visas".
