Chitrangada Singh spends two hours with Salman Khan

Salman Khan, who recently returned from the USA after a medical checkup, had an unexpected visitor. Actress Chitrangada Singh who is struggling to get established in the industry despite getting a good start with the critically acclaimed ‘Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi’ and the commercially successful ‘Desi Boyz’, paid a visit to Salman.

Salman is known to help industry colleagues during their time of need. Chitrangada spent almost two hours chatting with Salman and reportedly asked for career advice. Salman’s sister Arpita also joined them briefly. A newspaper report stated, “Salman doled out career advice and his little sister Arpita joined them for a tetea-tete in between.” Both of the actors know each other personally because Chitrangada is part of Salman’s brother Sohail Khan’s team in the Celebrity Cricket League.

A source informed, "She wants to do many films now. She is reading quite a few scripts. But she needs advice from well-wishers. And Salman has a good equation with her since she is the ambassador of his brother Sohail Khan's CCL (Celebrity Cricket League) team." A friend of Salman who knows about the meeting said, "Naturally, they discussed work. Which actress doesn't want to work with Salman?"

Sometime back, Chitrangada had fallout with her mentor, director Sudhir Mishra who launched her in ‘Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi’ and later did few other films as well. Trouble started when she was offered an item number in the film ‘Joker’ and she accepted. Sudhir Mishra also did not approve of her commercial outing in ‘Desi Boyz’.

Finally she had enough and told him that she is unhappy with his interference. Sudhir Mishra also dropped her from one of his films and said to the media, "I need a younger actress for this story. I haven't finalized my cast yet but Chitrangada (she's in her late 30s) is definitely not a part of this project as the role doesn't suit her." With her longtime mentor gone, it looks like Chitrangada felt Salman is the man to turn to.

Chitrangada does not have many projects in hand although she is currently filming for the Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Gabbar’. She is also coping with her divorce from golfer Jyoti Randhawa. Few months ago she refused to be part of a grooming competition because she was not ready to face questions about her divorce. The couple, who were married for 12 years, has a five year old son Zorawar Randhawa.
