Cheating case filed against Salman Khan and ‘Sultan’ makers

In a blow to the cast and team of recently released film ‘Sultan’, a case of cheating has been registered against lead actors Salman Khan and Anushka Sharma, director Ali Abbas Zafar and production company Yash Raj Films.

The case was filed by one Sabeer Ansari at the Chief Judicial Magistrate court in Muzaffarpur, Bihar. The complainant has claimed that the entire movie, from beginning to end, was based on his life, as per a report in a leading publication.

In his petition, Sabeer alleged that Salman Khan had promised to pay him Rs 20 crore, but failed to do so, even after the film was released on July 6. He added that the actor had reportedly contacted him for the film. However, few days later, he was informed that the film had been shelved.

Now with the film released, Sabeer said that he felt cheated as the film was based on his life. The CJM court has scheduled the next hearing in the case for July 12.

Meanwhile, ‘Sultan’ released to a huge response at the theatres on July 6, a day ahead of Eid. It collected Rs 36. Crore on the opening day itself. Salman and Anushka have given stupendous performances and it is said that the film will enter the Rs 100 crore club in merely three days.
