Censor board clears ‘PK’ nude scene

<PK>Aamir Khan who is known to have a sharp mind for film promotions, has successfully turned his upcoming release ‘PK’ into one of the most anticipated films in recent times. This was made possible by the interesting poster campaign which started last month and will continue till the film’s release.

The first poster of the film featured a nude Aamir Khan and took the nation by storm.  While the poster became viral, several political parties and religious groups protested against it. Now as per latest reports, Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) popularly known as the censor board has cleared the trailer of ‘PK’ that features the nude scene. The trailer has been given U/A certificate. A source close to the board has revealed, “The examining committee rejected the film’s promos since there were objections from right wing groups over the controversial poster. But Leela Samson, the chairperson of CBFC, has apparently decided to take a firm stand without worrying about the moral police.”

It has been reported that the trailer features Anushka Sharma. The source added, “She will be shown speaking about P.K’s character and she’ll try to figure out who he actually is.”  The film also stars Sanjay Dutt who was seen in the third poster of the film and Sushant Singh Rajput.

When the initial controversy broke out over the nude poster, several cases were filed against Aamir Khan, alleging the use of vulgarism and nudity for promotions. But the honorable Supreme Court of India found nothing offensive in the poster. A bench of judges led by Chief Justice RM Lodha said, "It is entertainment and fiction. Let art remain art. We do not understand how public order is disturbed by it. If you don't like it, don't watch. Please show some tolerance. We cannot take away the public's right to watch a movie."

Aamir had also publicly defended the poster saying it would be clear after the release of the film, why the poster is important. The posters that followed the first one were nothing controversial but interesting nonetheless.  Industry sources have revealed that the expectations from the film is sky high and already the satellite rights have been sold for a huge amount of 85 crore.  ‘PK’ is set release on 19th December. Aamir has learned Bhojpuri dialect for his role in the film. While the plot has been kept more or less a secret, it is being said that Aamir is playing an alien in the film.
