Cannes: Aishwarya Rai shines in a golden studded gown by Ali Younes

Bollywood diva Aishwarya Rai Bachchan marked her 15 years of appearance at the Cannes Film Festival on Friday evening. She walked the red carpet in a champagne coloured beaded gown overlaid by a sheer cape.

Aishwarya’s outfit was created by Kuwaiti designer Ali Younes. She paired the dress with a golden belt hugging her waist. She left her tresses in loose waves and looked killer in blue eyeshadow and pinkish-nude lip colour.

The former Miss World had previously said that she hadn't decided on an outfit for the prestigious event and wasn't losing sleep over it. "Troll me as much as you like," she had challenged. Despite that, Aishwarya has picked the perfect dress for the first day of the 69th edition of the film festival.

Aishwarya who represents cosmetic giant L’Oreal, arrived in Cannes on Friday afternoon with her four-year-old daughter Aaradhya and mother Brinda Rai in tow, hours before gracing the red carpet.

Aishwarya has been keeping busy with her upcoming film ‘Sarabjit’ directed by Omung Kumar. She will also skip the amfAR Gala 'Cinema Against AIDS' fundraiser on May 19 as the biopic is set to release on May 20.

Her L’Oreal co-ambassador Sonam Kapoor, who will walk the red carpet on May 16 and 17, will fill in for her at the charity event.

Meanwhile, ‘Sarabjit’ will be screened at the festival on Sunday, May 15.
