Box-office: Salman’s ‘Tubelight’ earns 21.15 cr in the opening day

Well, Salman Khan’s 2017 Eid release ‘Tubelight’ fails to drag audience to the theatres and it has only earned Rs 21.15 crore on the opening day, which is the superstar’s lowest box-office earnings as compared to his previous Eid release like ‘Sultan’, ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaann’ and others.

Kabir Khan’s ‘Tubelight’ not only opened with negative reviews but it also failed to charm the audience. This time Salman Khan’s charisma didn’t work in spite of his electrifying performance.

It is Salman’s lowest collection in the last five years.

Salman's last two Eid releases, ‘Sultan’ in 2016 and ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ in 2015 registered a whopping Rs. 36.54 cr and Rs. 27.25 cr respectively on the opening day.

A while ago, trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted about the first day collection of ‘Tubelight’

Kabir Khan’s directorial venture has collected $1.05 million (Rs 6.6 crore) in UAE-GCC, Dubai and other areas. The early estimation says the film has raked in around Rs 20 crore on its opening day.

'Tubelight' is a war-drama starring Salman Khan, Sohail Khan, Zhu Zhu, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayub, Om Puri and Shah Rukh Khan in a cameo. It has been directed by Kabir Khan and is set in the backdrop of Indo-Sino War of 1962. The movie is said to be an adaption of 2015 American film ‘Little Boy’.

The film revolves around two brothers Laxman (Salman Khan) and Bharat Singh Bisht (Sohail Khan). The slow IQ boy Laxman is extremely close to his brother, and is broken down when his brother joins the Army to fight against the Chinese forces in the 1962 Sino-Indian War. It tells how Laxman brings back Bharat home.

The extended weekend, Saturday, Sunday and Monday will surely see an increase in the box-office number of 'Tubelight'.
