Box-Office: ‘PK’ crosses Rs 50 crores in two days


<PK>Released on Friday, the last biggest release of the year Rajkumar Hirani’s ‘PK’ earned over Rs 50 crore in just two days of its release in the domestic market. Trade analysts expect the film will do a steady business in the coming days. Directed by Rajkumar Hirani and produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, ‘PK’ stars Aamir Khan, Anushka Sharma, Sushant Singh Rajput and Sanjay Dutt in the pivotal role.

Trade analyst Girish Johar tweeted about ‘PK’ collection, "#PK does a 50crs+ in flat 2 days - is now the 4th film of 2014 to get 50crs in 2days - #HappyNewYear #PK #SinghamReturns #Kick". Rajesh Thadani of Multimedia Combines said that ‘PK’ did a better business of Rs 29 crore on the second day. The film earned 26 crore on the opening day.

“It has collected at least Rs.56 crore in first two days. On the first day, it earned about Rs.26 crore. The next day, it managed to mint Rs.30 crore. They will earn profit, but expectations were higher,” he told media.

“The film is being liked by people in metropolitan cities. It will maintain steady figures in coming days,” he added. 

Highly impressed with ‘PK’, writer Milap Zaveri expects a "huge run" at the box office.

"#PK has great growth on Saturday! This film is set for a looooong and huge run at the box office," he tweeted.

‘PK’ received rave reviews from critics, thumps up from celebrities and accolades from audience.

 It is highly predicted that the film's collection will soar in the coming days.
