Box-office: Hrithik Roshan’s ‘Kaabil’ crosses Rs. 100 cr

Hrithik Roshan and Yami Gautam starrer ‘Kaabil’ has finally entered the prestigious Rs. 100 crore club. The movie crossed the figure on its second Saturday (Feb 4) by minting a total collection of Rs. 106.2 crore at the domestic box office.

The film’s official Twitter handle shared the news with brief video clip of its song ‘Mon Amor’ and thanked the audience by writing, “When we believe we can, we do. We are here because of you! Kaabil enters the 100 CR club with our 11 Days total being Rs 106.25 CR. #Kaabil100CrorePlus.”

‘Kaabil’, directed by Sanjay Gupta, was made on a moderate budget of Rs. 50 crore and the film has made a profit of Rs. 56 crore. Team ‘Kaabil’ is all set to party with all their fans. Hrithik’s dad and film’s producer Rakesh Roshan on Saturday tweeted, “We would love to celebrate ‘Kaabil’ with you guys. Watch ‘Kaabil’ this weekend and send a picture holding your ticket and use the hashtag.”

The revenge drama, which stars the lead pair as a blind couple, clashed with Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Raees’ on January 25. The difference between the opening collection of both the films was then Rs. nine crore, with ‘Raees’ taking the lead. But ‘Kaabil’ narrowed down the difference in no time and after the five-day-long weekend, the difference in the earnings came down to Rs. two crore. While ‘Raees’ crossed the Rs. 100 crore figure on its seventh day (Jan 31) by minting a total of Rs. 109.01 crore, ‘Kaabil’ collected Rs 9.22 crore on its second Saturday taking the total domestic collection Rs. 106.2 crore.
