Bollywood has been known to have had some real high profile relationships, which went kaput after some time. Here’s looking at such relationships which were extremely famous, but did not work out.
Dilip Kumar and Madhubala
It is one of the oldest and most talked about relationships, but unfortunately, it ended on a sad note. They met on the sets of their film ‘Jwar Bhatta’ and were together for a period of 5 years before the relationship ended. Madhubala eventually married Kishore Kumar.
Raj Kapoor and Nargis
They got together on the sets of one of their films, and the chemistry they shared, was instantly recognized by most around. Raj Kapoor at that time was married and a father, so they had to part ways. Nargis eventually married Sunil Dutt, and fell in love with him during the shoot of ‘Mother India’. Sunil Dutt saved her from the fire on the sets of this film.
Guru Dutt and Waheeda Rehman
One of the best directors of those times, Guru Dutt, fell in love with the super hit actress Waheeda Rehman. He introduced her in his film ‘C.I.D.’ and their affair became much publicized. Being already married to Geeta Dutt, once rumors of this surfaced, divorce was inevitable. Guru Dutt eventually committed suicide at an early age of 40.
Amitabh Bachchan and Rekha
After their first few films together, their affair was rumored. Although Amitabh never admitted or denied the relationship, Rekha did give it away during the course of time. At the height of this, Yash Chopra cast Rekha, Jaya Bachchan and Amitabh Bachchan for a love triangle in ‘Silsila’. It was considered a casting coup, but that was the last time these two worked with each other. Amitabh came back to his marriage, while Rekha went on to live a life on her own.
Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai
They began dating after their film ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’. The relation was always surrounded by controversies, and in the midst of it, they ended their relationship. Salman did not take the break up well, and stirred huge controversies, as he physically assaulted Aishwarya Rai.
Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor

3 years of being in a relationship, overnight news broke in that they went
separate ways. The two actors always spoke about their relationship openly, and
