Bollywood actress paired opposite both father-son duo in movies
In Bollywood, there are many instances where the same actress has shared screen space with both father and son in different movies. Here’s a look at all those beauties who either romanced or simply featured with the father-son actor duos of the Hindi film industry.
Madhuri Dixit romanced Vinod Khanna in 1988 film ‘Dayavan’, which was much talked due to the intimate scenes between the pair. They also starred opposite each other in ‘Maha-Sangram’. Years later, Madhuri romanced Vinod Khanna’s son Akshaye Khanna in 1997 film ‘Mohabbat’, and the two also came together for ‘Aja Nachle’.
Madhuri also featured in the item song ‘Ghagra’ with Ranbir Kapoor in ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’, and has also paired opposite his father Rishi Kapoor in ‘Prem Granth’ and a couple of more films.
Hema Malini made her Bollywood debut in 1968 with ‘Sapno Ka Saudagar’ opposite the legendary Raj Kapoor. Thereafter in 1974, the ‘Dream Girl’ romanced his son Randhir Kapoor in ‘Haath Ki Safai’. They also acted in more films, but were not cast opposite each other.
Sridevi romanced the father-son duo of Dharmendra and Sunny Deol, and interestingly, she romanced son Sunny Deol first in 1989 film ‘Chaal Baaz’, and a year later appeared opposite Dharmendra in ‘Naka Bandi’. The gorgeous actress has appeared in some more films with both the actors. Sridevi and Dharmendra also appeared in ‘Farishtay’, 'Sone Pe Suhaaga', 'Watan Ke Rakhwale', Sultanat' and 'Jaani Dost'. With Sunny, she was seen in 'Nigahen', 'Joshilaay', 'Main Tera Dushman', 'Ram-Avtar' and 'Sultanat'.
Like Sridevi, Amrita Singh too first romanced the son before starring opposite his father. Amrita made her debut opposite Sunny Deol in ‘Betaabi’ in 1983. Six years later in 1989, she played the wife of his father Dharmendra in ‘Sachai Ki Taqat’.
Dimple Kapadia also romanced Dharmendra and his son Sunny on the silver screen. She initially romanced Dharmendra in movies like 'Batwara' and 'Shehzaade', and later on was paired opposite Sunny in films like 'Narasimha', 'Aag Ka Gola' and 'Arjun'. Dimple was also paired Vinod Khanna in ‘Insaaf’, and years later played the love interest of his son Akshaye Khanna in ‘Dil Chahta Hai’.
Rani Mukherji is one actress who got the credit of work with the Bachchan father-son duo Amitabh and Abhishek. Rani romanced Abhishek in ‘Bunty Aur Babli’, ‘Yuva’, Bas Itna Sa Khwaab Hai’ and others. She featured opposite Big B in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s National Award winning film ‘Black’. While Big B and Rani’s characters shared a teacher-student relationship, they shared a passionate kiss in the film.
Shilpa Shetty too shared screen with the Bachchan baap-beta in different films. Albeit for a special song, the sultry Shilpa grooved with Abhishek in ‘Shut Up and Bounce’ song from 2008 film ‘Dostana’. Much before, she had also starred with his father in ‘Lal Baadshah’.
Katrina Kaif made her Bollywood debut with Kaizad Gustad’s ‘Boom’ which starred Amitabh Bachchan among others. The film was a disaster. She later romanced Abhishek Bachchan in Ram Gopal Varma's political thriller 'Sarkar', which also starred Big B in the title role.
Besides, Bachchan bahu Aishwarya Rai and Vidya Balan too starred with Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek, but the two ladies featured with the father-son duo in the same movie. Vidya played Big B’s mother and Abhishek’s girlfriend and wife in ‘Paa’. Aishwarya starred with her real-life father-in-law and husband duo in ‘Sarkar Raj’. She also featured in the special song ‘Kajrare’ from ‘Bunty Aur Bubli’, alongside Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek.
