Bollywood films with its value and variety have served to entertain as well as enlighten. But in course of entertaining, quite a few B Town bonanzas have been daringly experimental choosing to come up with bold thematic content. Having thrown caution to the wind, some of those bold bonanzas might have taken the tag of ‘dirty pictures’. So, it’ll be interesting finding out a few of the leading ones claiming to be included in the said category.

As one of the phenomenal box-office successes; Julie explores the journey of an Anglo Indian beauty, her fervent interaction with Sashi, the subsequent plight of an unwed mother and its aftermath. Having been remade from a Malayalam flick, Julie boasts of a scintillating musical score. Things find settlement at the end, but the film maker K.S Sethumadhavan was daring enough to explore the ideas of premarital sex and unwed motherhood during the wee years of seventies
