Long legged, dimpled face and dusky beauty Deepika Padukone was born on January 5, 1986 to famous badminton player Prakash Padukone. Her father is a famous retired badminton player and her mother is a travel agent.
She was born in Copenhagen, Denmark but later her family shifted to Bangalore. She also has a younger sister Anisha born on 2 February 1991.
Deepika studied at Sophia High School in Bangalore and completed her college at Mount Carmel College Bangalore. She played badminton at state level.
Deepika Padukone pursued her career in acting. She started her career as a model and featured in many TV ads.
Deepika made a successful debut opposite Shahrukh Khan in Farah Khan’s film, ‘Om Shanti Om’. In a short period of her acting career, Deepika has acted opposite many established stars and big banners. Though after ‘OSO’ she did not achieve grand success, Deepika has the capability to make big in Bollywood.
With the success of ‘OSO’, Deepika’s personal life also had a boost. She was involved in a serious relationship with Ranbir Kapoor. Their pairing was young and was very much cherished but unfortunately, it did not work out and they broke-up in 2009.
Deepika Padukone is currently dating Siddharth Mallya, son of liquor baron and Kingfisher owner Vijay Mallya.
Deepika has under her sleeve many promising projects like ‘Cocktail’, ‘Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani’, ‘Race 2’ and ‘Rana’.
