Birthday celebrations for Karan Johar and Aishwarya Rai’s mom

Film director Karan Johar will turn another year older on 25 May, unfortunately this year the talented director will be having a quite birthday, just with his mom. Karan Johar has enjoyed great success in all his films. From enacting a small part in the film Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge to directing his super blockbusters Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhie Khushi Kabhie Gham and Kal Ho Na Ho, the director has received tremendous appreciation and success not only in India but worldwide. This year Karan Johar was even a part of the Cannes Film Festival.
Karan Johar who will be returning from London to spend his birthday with his mother says “I want to spend this day with my mother. There will be no party because all my friends are out of the country.” Even close pal Shahrukh Khan happens to be in Malaysia shooting for his forthcoming film, Don. Karan is in the process of adding the finishing touches to his forthcoming film Kabhie Alvida Na Kehna. The star cast as usual is huge and consists of Amitabh Bachchan, Shahrukh Khan, Preity Zinta, Rani Mukherjee, Abhishek Bachchan and Arjun Rampal. Karan has dealt with an extremely sensitive issue in this film and explores a completely new phase with this film.

Karan along with actress Preity Zinta was recently at the Cannes to promote Kabhie Alvida Na Kehna. Unfortunately an event that took place at the Cannes has left Karan a trifle irritated as the entire episode has been blown out of proportion by the media. Sources at the Cannes claimed that Karan Johar and Preity Zinta were refused an entry through the main door of the hotel that they were put up in, at Cannes. Apparently the reason given by the security was that the main entrance was only for celebrities. Unfortunately all their attempts to convince the security that they were celebs from India were futile and ultimately they had to concede and enter from a side entrance. However an irritated Karan says “We were just asked to go through another door, which we did, unfortunately a channel correspondent spotted us and reported that we were denied entry.” However this event did not manage to dampen the director’s spirits and he thoroughly enjoyed his experience at Cannes.

Aishwarya Rai was recently busy with her appearance at Cannes and the shooting of Mani Ratnam’s film Guru in Chennai, but still managed to take some time off for her mom’s birthday and her brother’s wedding anniversary. The beautiful actress who is busy jet setting from one location to the other recently made a quick stop over in Mumbai to spend some time with her family to have a double celebration. Ash is extremely family oriented and loves to spend time with her family. The actress was in Mumbai on 23 May for a day with her family before she took off to Chennai to shoot for her film Guru.

Says Ash “I always prioritise my family above everything and everyone else. When all seems lost, it’s always your family that stands by you.” The actress also claimed that whatever free time she gets, she prefers to spend it in the company of her family. Now here’s an actress who definitely knows how to show her appreciation to her family.
