Bipasha throws tantrums at fashion event, blames organisers for it

Bipasha Basu has refuted the allegations that she had thrown tantrums and created ruckus at the India-Pakistan London Fashion Show, and claimed it was the unprofessionalism of the organisers which resulted in this.

The bong beauty allegedly abused her manager Sana Kapoor and also insulted the founder and organiser of the show, Gurbani Kaur. Bipasha’s tantrums allegedly cost the organisers around 7,800 pounds.

In an official statement, Bipasha defended her stand. An entertainment portal quoted the actress’ spokesperson as saying, “Bipasha has always had a spotless reputation for more than 15 years in the industry and has been a thorough professional. Unfortunately, the organisers didn’t honour their commitment as promised in terms of hospitality and logistics. On landing Bipasha had to book her own hotel stay. What happened was completely unprofessional on the organisers part.”

Bipasha was in London earlier this month, where she was invited to be the showstopper for London-based designers Lubna and Uzma Rafiq at the grand finale of the show. She was also supposed to interact with media persons, but a few hours before the show, the actress refused to come out of her hotel room. When her manager tried to convince her, Bipasha allegedly abused her, throwing her out of the room.

Ronita Sharma Rekhi, the official talent scout of the show, in charge of getting Bipasha to London, recounted her “horrific” experience with the ‘Jism’ actress to Mumbai Mirror. She said, “While still in India, Sana told us that Bipasha wanted her husband Karan Singh Grover to fly out to London with her and her stay be extended to five nights. We had already booked rooms at Mayfair but since there were no rooms available after she extended her stay, we shifted her to the Montcalm Hotel, another five-star property which cost us 600 pounds per night. All her requirements were taken care of and an advance fee was paid. Within minutes of landing in London, we handed her two local SIM cards which she literally threw back on my face because it only had a five-pound recharge. There were around 20 people watching us, including the chauffeurs. The tantrums got worse once Bipasha reached the hotel.”

Sunny Surani of the Universal Entertainment Company which managed the event, also seconded Ronita’s words and said, “It was a pitiful situation when I was contacted. I had to organise accommodation and food for Bipasha’s manager Sana, and book her on the next flight to Mumbai. The total loss suffered by the show organisers because of Bipasha amounts to 7800 pounds, apart from the travel expenses paid to her in cash at the airport.

Bipasha used this as “honeymoon money” but we will fight this till the end. We are going to apply to the visa and immigration centre to debar her from working in the UK in future,” Sunny added.
