Bigg Boss 9: TV actor Ankit Gera gets evicted in first week

Television actor Ankit Gera became the first participant of reality show ‘Big Boss 9’ to be evicted out of the show in the first week itself. A total of four pairs, i.e, eight contestants were nominated for elimination, which included Ankit with his partner Arvind Vegda, along with Roopal Tyagi -Digyangana Suryavanshi, Vikas Bhalla - Yuvika Choudhary and Suyyash Rai-Rimi Sen.

Rimi and Suyyash who had partnerned with Rochelle and Prince respectively in the partner exchange episode, had already been declared safe by host Salman Khan on Saturday’s special weekend episode. Among the remaining three pairs, Vikas-Yuvika and Roopal-Digangana were declared safe on Sunday leaving which left Ankit-Arvind’s pair in the danger zone of elimination.

While the housemates were expecting that elimination will be done in pairs, Salman had revealed to the viewers that only one will be evicted, in the previous episode.

As Ankit-Arvind duo walked towards the door, Salman revealed the twist to them that one of them will get to stay in the house, and it was not Ankit. His eviction comes as a shock as he is more popular and better known to viewers than his partner. Moreover, with his ex-girlfriend Roopal Tyagi also contesting in the show, some interesting drama was being expected between. It is disappointing that Ankit was the one who counted the least audience votes.

Ankit had a small interaction with the media after he came out of Bigg Boss house before joining Salman on the stage.

Earlier in the episode, actress Sonam Kapoor who stars with Slaman in Diwali release ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ came to promote the film. She set the stage ablaze dancing to the title track of the film while Salman joined her in the dance.

A question-answer session was also held between the contestants and a senior journalist of a news channel and Bollywood actor-singer Ayushmann Khurana through video chat. Sonam was also a part of the interactive session.

Mandana Karimi, who had been annoying contestants, especially Kishwer Merchant in the past was praised for not being pretentious and talking her mind. Keith Sequeira also clarified on why he was sticking with Mandana despite being given a chance for partner swapping when he could have been with his girlfriend Rochelle Rao.
