Bigg Boss 10: Yuvraj Singh’s mother reacts to Akansha’s allegations

During the launch episode of ‘Bigg Boss 10’ on Sunday, October 16, commoner contestant Akansha Sharma revealed that she was married to cricketer Yuvraj Singh’s younger brother Zorawar, but she left him after four months of marriage. The couple has been estranged for nearly two-and-half years.

Akansha opened up about her bad marriage on the show and blamed her mother-in-law for her failed marriage. She alleged that Yuvraj and Zorawar’s mother ill-treated her and she had no choice but to return to her parents’ home.

While Aksnsha’s revelations on national television have raised a lot of eyebrows, her mother-in-law and Yuvraj’s mother Shabnam Singh has finally reacted to her estranged daughter-in-law’s allegations. She alleged that Ankansha is raking up the issue as a publicity gimmick.

In an interview with Hindustan Times, Shabnam said that if Akansha had any claims of cruelty by them, she could have filed the case back then or could have taken some action, instead of gossiping about it on a popular show.

She also stated that that it was them who had filed the divorce in the first place two years ago and had some strong reasons to take the drastic step.

“We were the ones who filed for divorce because we had some really strong reasons. There’s a special petition I had filed in the High Court; it’s a case of blackmail,” Shabnam said.

Shabnam said that the matter of divorce is sub judice and they, including Akansha, are not supposed to talk about it. “It goes under the contempt of court,” she added. Shabnam further pointed out, “Anyone can understand the agenda here… We’ll let the law take its course. I have faith in the judiciary.”

"Somebody has to take the brunt, so it's fine if it's me. God bless, is all I can say to her. Let her go on and say what she has to say. Even I have enough to talk and share my side of the story. But I just don't want to get into any mud-slinging. She's also someone's daughter and she's doing what she's being instructed to," Yuvraj Singh’s mother told the daily.
