‘Bigg Boss 10’ finalist Bani bags lead role in historical show ‘Porus’


Popular VJ and ‘Bigg Boss 10’ finalist Bani Judge is set to make her acting debut on the small screen. The reality show is known to give a boost to the showbiz careers of its contestants, and Bani’s fan-following too has increased manifold post her ‘Bigg Boss’ stint.

Bani has been roped in to play a lead role in an upcoming historical drama, according to a report in a leading daily. She will play Queen Olympias, mother of Alexander the Great, in Siddharth Kumar Tewary’s ‘Porus’ on Sony Entertainment Television.

“Bani fits the role perfectly. She will join the cast for rehearsals and workshops soon,” the daily quoted the show’s producer as saying.

Recently, Bani also posted a picture of her serious script reading session on Snapchat. The picture has her hand covering the screen of her laptop and was captioned, ‘Green smoozie and script reading time’.

Bani started her career by participating in ‘MTV Roadies 4’, where she was the runner-up. She then went on to host subsequent seasons of the adventure reality show. She has also starred in Punjabi film ‘Zorawar’ and was also seen in Himesh Reshammiya starrer film ‘Aap Kaa Surroor’.  

‘Porus’ is based on the legendary Porus, a king of the Pauravas in ancient India, who fought against Alexander the Great in the battle of the Hydaspes and turned out to be the biggest obstacle in the mighty emperor's way on his quest to conquer the Indian subcontinent. Although Porus could not defeat Alexander, he was the first one to offer real resistance to the Greek King.
