Big B’s ‘Sarkar 3’ release shifted to April 7 on RGV birthday
Megastar Amitabh Bachchan starrer political thriller ‘Sarkar 3’ has postponed its release date. The Ram Gopal Varma directorial will now hit screens on April 7, instead of March 17. The change in release date was announced in a statement on Tuesday.
Interestingly, April 7 happens to be director RGV’s 55th birthday. So he will be celebrating his special day with the release of his hit franchise film.
Earlier, it was scheduled to collide with Vidya Balan starrer ‘Begum Jaan’ at the box-office. With the new release date, the movie will clash with Anurag Basu’s ‘Jagga Jasoos’ starring ex-flames Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif.
‘Sarkar 3’ is the third instalment of RGV’s hit series ‘Sarkar’, which first released in 2005. The film also featured Big B’s son Abhishek Bachchan. Its sequel ‘Sarkar Raj’ came out in 2008, in which Abhishek’s wife Aishwarya Rai Bachchan joined the cast.
‘Sarkar 3’ features an ensemble cast, including Manoj Bajpayee, Jackie Shroff, Ronit Roy, Amit Sadh, Rohini Hattangadi and Yami Gautam, besides Amitabh Bachchan who reprises his role as Subhash Nagre.
‘Sarkar 3’ is presented by Eros International and produced by Allumbra Entertainment, Wave Cinemas and AB Corp. It will simultaneously release in Hindi and Telugu.
