Big B to carry Olympic torch in London today

It’s a very exciting moment for Amitabh Bachchan as he will carry the Olympic torch in London today, a day before the game kick-starts. The megastar will be part of the relay team which will carry the torch.

A delighted Mr Bachchan tweeted that he has been invited by the London Olympic Organizing Committee. "OK !! HERE IT IS : Have been invited by London Olympic Organizing Committee to carry the torch in the relay tomorrow," tweeted Mr Bachchan.

"Honored to be asked to carry the Olympic Torch in London at Southwark around 10:30 AM !! A proud moment for me and country!" another of his tweets said.

Mr Bachchan is not only the one Indian to be a part of the game but music maestro AR Rahman is also associated with the game. He has composed a track for the inaugural event along with Slumdog Millionaire director Danny Boyle.

"Clarifying the report on the Olympics track I am composing... It's a track in Punjabi celebrating the Indian influence in the UK. It's a part of a medley in the Olympics opening ceremony, according to Danny Boyle's creative wishes!," Rahman had written on his Facebook page.

Illaiyaraaja's song will also feature in the medley of music tracks to be used in the inaugural programme.

Legendary personalities from all over the world and from every walk of life, including Lawrence Dallaglio, Lewis Moody, Jim Anderson, Phil Packer, Darren Fitzpatrick and Tom Davis will walk the 32.7 mile relay with the Olympic flame.
