Big B, Shahrukh, Rajinikanth condole Jayalalithaa’s demise
J Jayalalithaa fondly called Amma by the people of Tamil Nadu passed away at Chennai Apollo Hospital on Tuesday. She was 68. Tamil film industry along with Amitabh Bachchan and Shahrukh Khan condoled the death of Jayalalithaa.
While mourning the death of AIADMK chief and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, superstar Rajinikanth called her a ‘brave daughter’.
"Not just Tamil Nadu but India has lost a brave daughter. I pray to God to rest her soul in peace," he tweeted.
Bollywood veteran Amitabh Bachchan also expressed grief over the death of the the CM of Tamil Nadu.
"Jayalalitha ji the only CM of a State that celebrated 100 years of Indian Cinema .. from all regions .. most admirable," he tweeted.
"Sad to hear of the passing away of Jayalalithaaji...May her soul rest in peace," Shah Rukh Khan said in a tweet.
Actor Junior NTR took expressed his grief on soicla media, saying, "Great era comes to an end. But her majestic charisma and determination will continue to live and inspire many women in our country." Jayalalitha had paired in several films with NTR Jr's grandfather NT Rama Rao.
Another actor Rahul described Jayalalithaa as an 'iron lady'. "U are an immortal soul and you will remain in our hearts (sic)," he said.
Actor Naresh said her life as a journey is an inspiration to all. "An iron lady for the people of TN, you will be missed," he said.
Writer-director Kona Venkat said she was the strongest lady of our country. "No one can match her guts or glory. It is a great loss to the poor and needy," he said.Host of Tamil cinema actors including Parthiban, Jeyam Ravi, Trisha Krishnan, Shruti Haasan and director Gautam Vasudev Menon mourned the death of Jayalalithaa.
