Bhansali upset with Deepika Padukone for her bold photoshoot?

Deepika Padukone recently became the target of internet trolls for her bold photoshoot for a popular magazine. Now, word is rife that even director Sanjay Leela Bhansali is upset with the actress due to her sexy pictures.

As per a report in Mid-day, Bhansali is concerned for his upcoming film ‘Padmavati’ in which Deepika plays the titular character of the queen of Mewar. The period drama has already run into trouble with fringe groups who alleged inappropriate portrayal of the queen and distortion of historical facts in the movie.

Earlier this year when the film went on floors in Rajasthan’s Jaipur, members of Rajput Karni Sena assaulted Bhansali and vandalised the sets damaging expensive equipment. The filmmaker then shifted the shooting location to Kolhapur in Maharashtra, but here also miscreants burnt the set with torches and petrol bombs, causing great damage to it. There were protests against Bhansali and the film, and the director’s effigy was also burnt.

All these incidents have made Bhansali more guarded about the film and he has asked the cast to keep a low-profile as he wanted to avoid more controversies. He fears that Deepika’s recent photoshoot that were termed “shameless” and “vulgur” by some users, might further irk people and bring more trouble for ‘Padmavati’.

‘Padmavati’ also stars Ranveer Singh in the role of Delhi Sultan Alauddin Khilji, and Shahid Kapoor who plays Padmavati’s husband Raja Ratan Rawal Singh. The movie is being readied for a release on on November 17.
