Beyoncé Knowles gives birth to twins – a boy and a girl

American pop sensation Beyoncé Knowles has given birth to twins at a Los Angeles hospital. The ‘Lemonade’ singer’s father confirmed the good news with a Twitter post of an image of colourful balloons with the message ‘Happy Birthday to the twins! Love, Granddad’, and captioned it, “They're here!#beyonce #twins #jayz #happybirthday.”

People magazine stated that the Carter family was “thrilled” to welcome the newest members. "Bey and Jay Zare thrilled, and have started sharing the news with their family and closest friends," the magazine quoted a source close to the couple as saying.

Beyonce who married Shawn Corey Carter aka Jay Z, are already parents to five-year-old daughter Blue Ivy. Although there has been no official announcement about the gender of the new-borns, reports suggest that Beyonce gave birth to a boy and a girl.

Several publications citing multiple sources reported that Blue Ivy has a new little brother and sister. According to E! online, Jay Z and Blue Ivy were together spotted at a LA area hospital last Thursday (June 15), and on Friday, an unidentified woman carrying a bouquet of pink, purple and blue flowers with two giant baby foot-shaped pink and blue balloons that read, ‘Baby Girl’ and ‘Baby Boy,’ was photographed dropping off the gift at the same Los Angeles hospital.

Beyonce shared the news about her second pregnancy in February by posting a photograph flaunting her baby bump, and captioned it, "We would like to share our love and happiness. We have been blessed two times over. We are incredibly grateful that our family will be growing by two, and we thank you for your well wishes."
