‘Bewakoofiyaan’ earns 7.74 crores in the first weekend

productions ‘Bewakoofiyaan’ which start off slow still lagging behind at the box-office.
The film has been able to collect only 7.74 crores in the opening weekend. Well-know faces, yash raj banner, well promoted, entertaining but still the film had
a dull start and failed to show some bounce in the first weekend. Its breakup
is Rs 2.23 cr on Fri, Rs 2.51 cr on Sat and Rs 3 cr on Sun.
Bollywood trade expert Taran Adarsh writes, "Bewakoofiyaan has cost Rs 14
cr to make, with an additional Rs 8 cr being spent on P&A [total cost: Rs
22 cr]. The makers have already recovered a substantial chunk of investment via
sale of Satellite Rights. Recovering the balance amount from India and Overseas
theatrical, Audio and Home Video shouldn't be a problem for YRF. But one
definitely expected more!"

starrer ‘Queen’ are considered to be the two reasons for the poor show of ‘Bewakoofiyaan’.
Rajesh Thadani of Multimedia Combines summed up the films'
performances:"'Queen' is doing an outstanding business and it's still
going houseful in many theaters. Though 'Bewakoofiyaan' released this Friday,
yet the business of 'Queen' has not been affected."
Film critic Taran Adarsh shared the first weekend collection of ‘Bewakoofiyaan’ and the second week collection of ‘Queen’ on his Twitter page.
He tweeted: "'Bewakoofiyan' Fri Rs.2.23 crore, Sat Rs.2.51 crore. Total: Rs.4.74 crore nett. India biz."
"'Queen' (Week 2) Fri Rs.2.15 crore. Grand total: Rs.21 crore nett. India biz."
Thadani said: "'Queen' is doing well in the multiplexes universally and is growing universally with each passing day. The collection of 'Bewakoofiyaan' is not up to the mark."
In ‘Bewakoofiyaan’, fashionista Sonam Kapoor plays the love interest of the hero Ayushmann Khurrana while Rishi Kapoor dons the role of Sonam’s strict father. Habib Faisal has written the story of the movie and it is directed by Nupur Asthana. The music director Raghu Dixit has done a decent job with the songs of the music. The movie ‘Bewakoofiyaan’ is produced by Aditya Chopra of the famed Yash Raj Films.
The character of Ayushmann Khurrana in the film is called Mohit Chadhdha and he is a marketing executive, whereas Sonam Kapoor is called Mayera Sehgal and she is a financial person with an eye for shoes. Both are madly in love with each other and believe that they can live on love. However, Mayera’s father, played by Rishi Kapoor begs to differ and he believes that only money can bring her daughter happiness. He disapproves of Mohit and wishes for a rich man for his daughter.
