Bengali actor Pijush Ganguly dies in a road accident

Bengali film and television actor Pijush Ganguly died at a city hospital early today. He was 50. Pijush met with an accident last week and was under ventilation.

"He died at 2.45 AM because of multi-organ failure and fat embolism in a case polytrauma after he met with a road accident on Tuesday," said a senior official of the Belle Vue Clinic, where he had been admitted.

His condition deteriorated yesterday and the doctors had to cancel the second operation on looking at his critical condition.

On October 20, Ganguly and dancer Malabika Sen were injured when his MUV collided head-on with a bus at Santragachi in Howrah district while they were returning to the city after a show. Sen is said to  be now out of danger.

Ganguly, is survived by his wife and a son.
