Bengali actor Jisshu Sengupta to romance Deepika Padukone

Bengali star who made his Bollywood debut in Anurag Basu’s ‘Barfi’ opposite Ileana D’Cruz will be seen playing Pikua-padukone/' title='Deepika Padukone' class='article_display_tag' data-id='deepika-padukone' id='article_tag_data_deepika-padukone' style='display: inline-block;'>Deepika Padukone’s love interest in Shoojit Sircar’s ‘Piku’. The film also stars Amitabh Bachchan and Irrfan Khan in the pivotal role apart from Deepika and Jisshu. Jisshu will also be seen opposite Rani Mukherjee in ‘Mardaani’ in which he will play Rani’s on-screen husband.

Shoojit was at first in confusion as how to get Jisshu on board as he has been launched by Yash Raj Films but he desperately wants him opposite the long legged dusky beauty as the role is best suited to the Bengali actor. When Jisshu showed Sircar his film, ‘Jaatishwar’, Sircar was convinced.

Jisshu is a noted Bengali actor and in his long tenure of acting career, he was worked with many noted filmmakers and actors of Bengali cinema.

The excited actor said: "It`s a big break with a director I really admire and with actors I really love. It has been my dream to work with Mr. Bachchan from the time I decided I wanted to be an actor."

"Irrfan-ji is another actor I truly admire. As for Deepika, isn`t she everyone`s favourite dream girl these days?"

‘Piku’ will go on floor in August.
