‘Befikre’ rakes in over 30 cr in first weekend


Ranveer Singh and Vaani Kapoor starrer ‘Befikre’, backed by big banner Yash Raj Films, opened to a good start and maintained a steady growth through the weekend. In three days, the Aditya Chopra directorial has grossed Rs 35.21 crores (approx.).

‘Befikre’ released across 2100 screens and collected Rs 10.36 crores on Friday, becoming the 10th highest opener of the year. Saturday’s business showed a slight growth and raked in an amount of Rs 11.60 crores, taking the two-day total to 21.96 crores. Sunday witnessed a jump in occupancy and the counters brought in another 13.25 crores (approx.) into ‘Befikre’ account, taking the weekend total to Rs 35.21 crores (approx.).

Monday being a partial holiday, the film is expected to make decent collection on its fourth day as well. While the next big release is Aamir Khan starrer biopic ‘Dangal’, this weekend will see the release of erotic crime thriller ‘Wajah Tum Ho’.

‘Befikre’ has been made on a budget of Rs 70 crores which includes Rs 55 crores in production cost and the rest in prints and promotions.

The film, which is Aditya Chopra’s first directorial in a gap of eight years, is a modern-day love story set in Paris. It has been much talked-about due to the kissing scenes between the lead pair and Ranveer’s butt-baring act. It is also being widely promoted.
