Bebo and Ranbir to play siblings on big screen
Kareena Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor are the most successful and glamorous sister and brother duo working in the Bollywood industry at present. Kareena belongs to the Kapoor clan and follows in the footsteps of her elder sister Karishma Kapoor. Karishma was a rebel of sort who entered the sphere of acting against strong dislike from the Kapoor family.
The clan never approved of its women working in the film industry. However, Karishma was always supported by her mother, Babita. Randhir Kapoor is the father to the two beautiful daughters Karishma and Kareena. Ranbir’s father Rishi Kapoor is the brother of Randhir Kapoor.
Therefore, the excitement among film critics and fans were palpable when the news came out that the real life cousin brother and sister are going to play siblings on reel life too. It will be interesting to note their comfort label while acting with each other and how they portray the characters. The film is going to be directed by Zoya Akhtar. Zoya is riding high on the success of her previous film ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’. The film earned commercial success and won praises from the critics as well.
Zoya’s next project with Bebo and Ranbir is going to be autobiographical in nature and may as well represent the story of siblings Zoya and Farhan. An insider remarked that "Zoya's next is a film based on Farhan and her growing up years.'' However another source quickly adds "The film is not really a blow-by-blow account of Farhan and Zoya's growing up years. It is a very sensitive script and is based on siblings. Only it draws liberally on some of the emotional conflicts and the bonding instances in Zoya and Farhan's real life."
The plot of the story is already garnering lots of interest inside Bollywood though the project is in nascent stage only. An excited Kareena Kapoor commenting on the next project of Zoya Akhtar stated that, "I'm very keen that Zoya finishes her script soon. I'm constantly in touch with her. It's a terrific script, and I'm dying to work with Ranbir.'' We all hope that the movie treats us to refreshing new concept similar to ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’.
Though Kareena
and Ranbir are the first choice for Zoya’s project, the director is keeping all
options open for the star cast. However, Zoya was not available to comment on
this.
