‘Bangistan’ three day collections stand at Rs 2.72 crore only

Riteish Deshmukh and Pulkit Samrat starrer satire comedy ‘Bangistan’ with its widespread promotions, quirky trailer and unique concept tried to attract audience. It had even postponed its release date by a week in view of the tremendous success of ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’. However, when it released on August 7, it failed to impress the viewers.

The Karan Anshuman directorial had a poor opening on the first day, Friday, with only about eight to ten percent occupancy, and could gather only Rs 70 lakhs at the box office. Saturday didn’t see many footfalls in the theatres for ‘Bangistan’ as it collected Rs 1 crore. The box office collection barely saw any improvement on Third day either with its business of Rs 1.02 crore.

‘Bangistan’ after three days of its release could only rake in a total of Rs 2.72 crore till Sunday.

Even as ‘Baahubali’ and ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ craze at the box office has slowed down, people seem to prefer Tom Cruise starrer Hollywood movie ‘Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation’ over ‘Bangistan’.

Produced by Excel Entertainment of Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani, ‘Bangistan’ also stars Jacqueline Fernandez, Chandan Roy Sanyal and Kumud Mishra.
