‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ with Rs 300 cr is 2nd highest grosser in India

<PK>Bollywood’s  ‘100 crore’ has become a passé with Salman Khan’s ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ also joining Aamir Khan’s ‘PK’ by achieving the enviable Rs 300 crore mark. The Kabir Khan directorial which released on July 17 has become the second highest grossing Hindi film in India after ‘PK’.

‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ which had been on a record-breaking spree, continued its steady run at the box office in the third week as well. The total collection of the movie stands at Rs 300.06 crore. The film has been able to surpass the 300 crore figure in mere 20 days.

Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh in a string of tweets shared about the film’s achievements, on Thursday, August 6.

“#BajrangiBhaijaan [Week 3] Fri 4.11 cr, Sat 6.80 cr, Sun 9.07 cr, Mon 2.75 cr, Tue 2.63 cr, Wed 2.45 cr. Total: ? 300.06 cr. ATBB.”

“#BajrangiBhaijaan crosses ? 300 cr in India... 2nd film to achieve the ENVIABLE status, after #PK... 2nd HIGHEST grosser ever. Hindi films.”

Taran also recalled Salman’s another record-breaking film ‘Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!’ that released two decades ago.

“5 Aug 1994. #HAHK releases. Creates HISTORY... 5 Aug 2015. Exactly 21 years later, #BajrangiBhaijaan too creates HISTORY, crosses ? 300 cr.”

‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ is doing good business in overseas as well. Although it is behind Aamir’s ‘PK’ with regard to overall collections, the film is still running in theatres across the nation. It might just overtake even ‘PK’.

Besides Salman, ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ also starred Kareena Kapoor, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and child actor Harshaali Malhotra.

The ‘Kick’ star will be next seen in Sooraj Barjatya’s ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ opposite Sonam Kapoor. The film releases in November. Salman is also doing ‘Sultan’ which will be releasing next year.
