‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ poster resembles that of Telugu film ‘Johnny’

Salman Khan starrer ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ is an eagerly awaited movie and its teaser raised the expectations of the viewers by leaps and bounds, and earned plaudits from the film fraternity. Karan Johar had even declared the film a block buster in his Twitter post.

Even as the trailer crossed over 25 lakh views on YouTube, it was noticed that the poster of the Kabir Khan directorial has a stark resemblance to that of 2003 Tollywood film ‘Johnny’ starring south star Pawan Kalyan.

It is not a new trend as Bollywood movies are often ‘inspired’ by films from Hollywood, Tollywood and other regions and countries. It is nothing new for Salman as well to be a part of south remakes. His 2009 film ‘Wanted’ is an instance in point.

But now it seems that even posters are inspired (read copied) from that of other films. This is a bit hard to swallow.

The similarity in the posters of the two films is revealed in their representation. Just as a close-up of an intense looking Salman, along with the film’s title is seen on the poster of ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’, the poster of sports film ‘Johnny’ had Pawan with a similar expression, along with the title of course.

While it is most unlikely that the film would be a copy of any other, one cannot deny the similarity in the posters. ‘Johnny’ proved to be the biggest flop of the south superstar’s career. One can only hope that, other than the poster, nothing else in similar between the movies and Salman’s fate doesn’t end up like that of Pawan.

Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ the story of a man whose mission is to take a lost little girl back to her homeland Pakistan, while ‘Johnny’ had Pawan in the role of a martial arts coach.
