‘Bajirao’ Ranveer Singh to play chocolate boy in ‘Befikre’

Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh after portraying Maratha warrior Peshwa Baji Rao I in his latest offering ‘Bajirao Mastani’ will back to being a chocolate boy in his next venture ‘Befikre’.

"It will be full chocolate boy look. Last Sunday, was the first day of work for Befikre. We did the costume trials and all. I don't know what my look exactly will be in the film," Ranveer said in an interview with PTI.

The actor was launched by Aditya Chopra under his banner Yash Raj Films with 2010 film ‘Band Baaja Baarat’ opposite Anushka Sharma. Speaking about his debut movie Ranveer said that many people questioned Aditya’s decision to launch him.

"At a time when I was launched there were enough people to tell Adi that he has lost it... What did he see in me? He said he saw something in me and so he will launch me as the first boy as solo hero lead that Yash Raj Films have never done," the ‘Lootera’ star recalled.

‘Befikre’ is Ranveer’s fifth film with YRF, four others being ‘Band Baaja Baarat’, ‘Ladies vs Ricky Bahl’, ‘Kill Dill’ and ‘Gunday’. The 30-year-old actor owes his career to Aditya. "I was out of nowhere and this guy had faith in me. During the first audition of ‘Band Baaja Baarat’ he saw my entire career unfolding... So, he saw a potential in me in the first shot. I owe my career to him," Ranveer said.

Aditya who will be directing the film after a gap of seven years has asked Ranveer to prepare for it in three months. The actor said he was surprised at the filmmaker’s proposition as even for a huge film like ‘Bajirao Mastani’ he got only three weeks to prep up.

Ranveer said he is waiting for his hair to grow back to a satisfactory length they will begin shooting for the film.

‘Befikre’ is a light breezy romantic film set in French capital Paris. Actress Vaani Kapoor who debuted with ‘Shuddh Desi Romance’ is cast opposite Ranveer in the film.
