‘Bajirao Mastani’, ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ top IIFA 2016 nominations
Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Bajirao Mastani’ and Kabir Khan’s ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ leads this year IIFA nominations. Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh have been nominated in the best actress and actor category respectively at IIFA, scheduled to take place in Madrid, Spain next month.
‘Bajirao Mastani’ has scored a maximum of eight nominations at the 17th edition of the NEXA International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards while ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ is just behind with seven nominations.
Shoojit Sircar's ‘Piku’ is next with six nominations while Zoya
Akhtar’s ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’ received five nominations. ‘Badlapur’, ‘Talvar’ and ‘Tanu Weds Manu
Returns’ are next in the row.
Priyanka Chopra and Tanvi Azmi, have been nominated in the same category for
their performance in the supporting role female for ‘Bajirao Mastani’. Other
names who are nominated in this category are Anushka Sharma for ‘Dil Dhadakne
Do’, Huma Qureshi for ‘Badlapur - Don't Miss the Beginning’ and Konkana Sen
Sharma for ‘Talvar’.
Singer Arijit Singh received two nominations in the best
playback singer male category for his musical contribution in ‘Hamari Adhuri
Kahani’ and ‘Roy’.
Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui has received three nominations in three different
categories for best performance in the comic role for ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’,
performance in a negative role for ‘Badlapur’ and performance in a supporting
role male for ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’.

Varun Dhawan for Badlapur- Don't Miss The Beginning), Salman Khan for Bajrangi
Bhaijaan), Amitabh Bachchan for Piku,
Ranbir Kapoor for Tamasha and
Ranveer Singh Bajirao Mastani.
Priyanka Chopra for Dil Dhadakne Do, Shraddha Kapoor for ABCD 2,
Deepika Padukone for Piku, Kangana Ranaut for Tanu Weds Manu Returns
and Deepika Padukone Bajirao Mastani.
The nominations for best film are Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Piku, Talvar,
Tanu Weds Manu Returns and Bajirao Mastani.
Nominees for best director are Kabir Khan (Bajrangi Bhaijaan), Shoojit
Sircar (Piku), Meghna Gulzar (Talvar), Aanand L Rai (Tanu Weds
Manu Returns) and Sanjay Leela Bhansali (Bajirao Mastani).
Farhan Akhtar and Shahid Kapoor wil be hosting IIFA this year at IFEMA in
Madrid.
