‘Baahubali’ enters 300 crore club in nine days


SS Rajamouli's magnum opus ‘Baahubali’ became box-office champion. The film has crossed 300 crore club in just nine days. The film has defeated the previous record of superstar Rajinikanth's ‘Enthiran’, which had collected Rs 290 crore approx at the box office. ‘Baahubali’ also holds record of remarkable first day collection. The film opened with a bang and collected Rs 50 crore in the opening day.

"As of Saturday, the film has grossed Rs 303 crore worldwide," trade analyst Trinath told IANS. "The Hindi version of the film has netted over Rs 50 crore, setting a new record for a dubbed film. Despite the onslaught of Bajrangi Bhaijaan, the numbers of Baahubali have not been affected," he said.

Another Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted about the Hindi version of ‘Baahubali’, which filmmaker Karan Johar's Dharma Productions has acquired the rights. The multi-lingual film has been made in Tamil and Telugu simultaneously and dubbed in Hindi.

Made on a budget of Rs 250 crore, ‘Baahubali’, directed by S.S Rajamouli is a mythological drama about two brothers fight for a kingdom. The film stars Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty and Tamannaah Bhatia in the lead roles.

‘Baahubali’ has created history. The film emerged as a winner not only in India but overseas also.

The second part of the film is slated to release later this year.
