‘Baahubali 2’ earns Rs 19 cr in advance sales in US ahead of release

The desperately-awaited film ‘Baahubali: The Conclusion’ will finally hit screens tomorrow, and trade pundits have already predicted a record-breaking opening for the multilingual epic. But, the S.S. Rajamouli directorial has already created a record in the United States even before its release.

The advance ticket sales for ‘Baahubali: The Conclusion’ have already surpassed the highest Indian grossing film (of any language) on opening day, Great India Films, the US distributor of the epic movie said in a press statement.

It has been officially confirmed that the film has already earned USD three million (Rs 19 crore approx) in advance booking and tickets are being sold at USD 100,000 (Rs 64 lakhs) every hour. The Prabhas and Rana Daggubati starrer will be releasing in record-breaking 425 theatres with over 1100 screens in North America alone, the statement added.

Trade analyst Ramesh Bala shared the news on Twitter today morning. He posted an image of the press note and wrote, “#Baahubali2Mania in #USA.. $3 Million in pre-sales.. Adding $100K every hour to the gross.. Record opening guaranteed.. KDMs delivered..”

‘Baahubali: The Conclusion’ is set to release in around 9000 screens worldwide on Friday, which is the biggest release ever for an Indian film. In India, it will open in 6500 screens and will simultaneously release in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam. Trade pundits believe ‘Baahubali 2: The Conclusion’ will rock at the box office and supersede the collections of the first part in the franchise, ‘Baahubali: The Beginning’.

The epic film also stars Sathyaraj, Anushka Shetty, Tamannah Bhatia, Ramya Krishnan and Nasser among others.
