Avika Gor quits ‘Sasural Simar Ka’, Mansi Srivastava to play Roli

Mansi Srivastava of 'Neeli Chatri Waale' will step into the shoes of Avika Gor. Avika Gor of ‘Balika Badhu’ fame quits the popular serial ‘Sasural Simar Ka’ because she wants to explore new opportunities. Moreover, Avika wanted a break from her hectic 10-year acting career.

When she was asked about her decision, Avika replied, "After working non-stop for 10 years, I wanted a break. I took this step because I didn’t want to get fed up of acting altogether. I want to work on myself now. I want to learn new things. I haven’t signed any new show or film. I have turned 18, and I am doing well for myself. So, there is no pressure to earn money".

However, reports were also surfaced that Avika had some promising projects down south and she is not able to give time to the daily soap.

Avika further spoke about her future projects, "I’m not concerned. People love me and will support me. I also have some work commitments. I have a Kannada film, which will release in May. I will miss being in touch with my fans, but they will see me in my short films. I want to figure out what I want to do. You never know, I might realise that I want to direct, and not act at all".

Avika is proud of her 10-year-long acting career, "This journey has been fabulous. When I started, I was eight. Back then, I had no idea what was going on, but I learnt a lot. People, till today, remember me as Anandi (her character from her debut show), even though I did that show for only two years, whereas I played Roli (her character from her latest show) for four years. The awards and appreciation felt great, but at that time, I didn’t realise the magnitude of all that. Today, when I look back, I feel blessed". she quip.

Recently, in an interview with Tellychakkar.com, Avika had cited that she wanted her character to die instead of someone replacing her. "Yes, I have quit Sasural. Ideally, I would like my character Roli to be killed as RoSid means a lot to me," she had said.

However, the makers of ‘Sasural Simar Ka’ wanted the character to continue with someone new. They first approached Roopal Tyagi, who participated in ‘Bigg Boss 9’, to replace Avika. Another ‘Bigg Boss 9’ contestant Digangana Suryavanshi was also approached for the role as well. But finally it was Mansi Srivastava who was confirmed.

Mansi is expected to join the cast and the crew next month. Reportedly, she will continue working with ‘Neeli Chatri Wale’.
