Aunt Neetu Kapoor excited about Armaan Jain’s debut

Debutant Armaan Jain is making quite a splash even before his debut film has hit the theatres. The trailer of the film has been well received and insiders are saying that Armaan’s work has impressed those who are attached with the project. Recently there has been another addition to the list of admirers of Armaan. It is none other than his aunt Neetu Singh (Kapoor), mother of Ranbir Kapoor.

Neetu has expressed her excitement about the fact that the film is titled ‘Lekar Hum Deewana Dil’, adopted from a popular 1970’s song from the hit film ‘Yaadon Ki Baarat’. Neetu Singh was actually part of that film and she also appeared in the song, looking pretty in a beautiful red dress. The song was a huge hit at that time and is still popular today. Because of her connection with the title of the new film, Neetu now feels personally connected with her nephew’s debut project. In a statement, Neetu, wife of veteran actor Rishi Kapoor has said, “This song holds a very special place in my heart… when I learnt that Armaan's film was titled Lekar Hum Deewana Dil I was super excited, I also shared my feelings with Armaan's mother on the title of the film".

Armaan is the grandson of the Kapoor family patriarch, the late Raj Kapoor.  Not just Neetu Singh (Kapoor), Armaan’s debut film has connection with several of his relatives. The film is co-produced by Saif Ali Khan, husband of Kareena Kapoor and brother –in-law of Armaan. It was also revealed some time ago by industry sources that Armaan’s cousin, current Bollywood heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor played a crucial role in getting Armaan the project. Ranbir is close to the director’s brother Imtiyaz Ali and after learning about the project he recommended his cousin’s name to the director. Ranbir felt that the lead character is quite close to Armaan and he will do justice to the role.

‘Lekar Hum Deewana Dil’ is a romantic comedy based on youths and how they grow as men after making mistakes and learning their lessons. The film is a joint production between Illuminati Films and Eros International. It is being directed by debutant director Arif Ali.  Before turning to acting, Armaan worked as assistant/ assistant director in films like ‘My Name Is Khan’ and ‘Student of the Year’ in order to get familiar with the industry. Many in the industry are claiming that he has the potential to be the next big star.
