Aspiring actress Manisha slaps director on stage for molestation

The director of ‘Mumbai Can Dance Saala’ was slapped on stage by aspiring actress Manisha for molestation and casting couch. The incident took place at the music launch of actress Rakhi Swant’s new film ‘Mumbai Can Dance Saala’. Rakhi also invited her friend Manisha for the music launch and the aspiring actress crossed paths with director Sachendra Sharma who once tried to made advances towards the actress.

The incident took place on Thursday night in a hotel in Juhu, people and media had gathered for music launch of the film. All of a sudden Manisha went up to Sharma slapped him suddenly. She alleged that he touched her inappropriately at the event. When the actress slapped him, the director also slapped her back creating a nuisance.

“The victim slapped the movie’s director Sachendra Sharma on the stage and he slapped her back,” said actor Rakhi Sawant. The victim said “About a month ago, Sharma told me that he would give me an item song if I slept with him. I declined his advances. Last night, when I went there to support Rakhi, I came across him again. He touched me inappropriately and said I should have not declined his offer,” she said.

A police officer said, "The woman claimed that the director assaulted her before the event. Following this, she retorted by slapping him on stage when the event was underway." According to the police, Sharma was accused of being a casting couch and that he had deliberately deleted Sawant's song from the film.

The case was registered by the actress at the Santa Cruz police station on Thursday midnight. A case has been registered under Indian Penal Code sections 354 (Assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and 323 (Punishment for voluntarily causing hurt). Padmakar Chavan, senior PI, said, "We have registered the case based on her allegation. We have not yet arrested the accused."

Rakhi Sawant who is a close friend of the victim said that she supported her fully.
