Ash, Deepika, SRK at Ahana Deol's big fat wedding
Dharmendra and Hema Malini had left no stone unturned to make the last marriage of the Deol family a big fat affair. If the mehendi and sangeet was a private affair then Ahana Deol’s marriage on February 2 at ITC Maratha turned to be a grand starry affair with the attendance of who’s who of Bollywood.
The wedding was attended by Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan and Amiabh Bachchan. Shahrukh Khan who recently injured on the set of Farah Khan’s ‘Happy New Year’ turned up for the wedding ceremony to wish the newly wedded couple. The Prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi also invited for Ahana Deol and Vaibhav Vora’s wedding.
Love birds Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone also graced the occasion. Sonakshi Sinha and Rekha too were seen. Amar Singh, industrialist Ambanis and yoga guru Baba Ramdev also invited for the wedding.
"My marriage happened very quietly and quickly. There was no time or
occasion for a big ceremony. But now there is finally going to be a big
fat Punjabi wedding in my family," said Hema.
"From the very Punjabi baraati to our doorstep to a very Tamil welcoming of the groom into the mandap (platform for wedding rituals). I am very excited," she added.
Ahana and Vaibhav had a Punjabi as well as South Indian style of wedding.
"Like a true Hindi film my daughter's wedding will have two halves. The
first-half of the wedding ceremony would be done in Punjabi style. The
second-half of the wedding would be done in Tamil style," she said
adding that there will be "two pundits (priests), one from north India
and the other from the south".
