Arvind Kejriwal refuses to star in Mallika's ‘Dirty Politics’

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal refuses to play the protagonist in KC Bokadia's political drama 'Dirty Politics' featuring Mallika Sherawat as the female lead. Arvind has been touted as Anil Kapoor of ‘Nayak’ and on looking at his style of work, KC Bokadia has approached Kejriwal to play the male lead in his film but due to time constraint, the Delhi CM refused to be part of the project.

A source close to ‘Dirty Politics’ reveals, "Bokadia saab had offered Kejriwal the film as it was loosely based on his phenomenal rise from common man to chief minister. After the narration, Kejriwal had liked the script, but excused himself saying he wanted to concentrate on party organisational work. However, he did thank the director for writing his story and approaching him."

Eventually, Naseeruddin Shah was approached for the role of Kejriwal. ‘Dirty Politics’ stars  Jackie Shroff, Om Puri and Anupam Kher in key roles apart from Mallika and Naseer.

The producer-director confirms the news, adding, "Yes, we had offered a role to Mr Kejriwal, but he could not allot dates to us. He congratulated us for the project, though. So, we approached Naseeruddin Shah. The film is inspired by him."
