Armaan Kohli gets bail, back in Bigg Boss house

Bigg Boss 7 contestant Armaan Kohli who was arrested on Monday night was granted bail today on a surety of 50,000 rupees. He was arrested for assaulting Bigg Boss contestant and British singer-actress Sofia Hayat. After eviction, Sofia went to Santacruz police station and lodged complaint against Armaan Kohli for assaulting her during her stay in the house. Armaan was released on bail and he is back in the house.

Police said on Tuesday, "Armaan will be taken for a medical examination and post that he will be presented in the court today. He is not allowed to meet anyone as of now."

Armaan has been booked under Sections 324 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means), 509 (word, gesture or act intended to outrage the modesty of a woman), 354(a) (sexual harassment), 294 (sing, recite or utter any obscene song or word) and 504 (intentional insult to provoke breach of peace) of the Indian Penal Code. 

Vishnu Pawar, inspector, Lonavla city police said on Monday, "We obtained the CCTV footage of the bungalow and upon scanning it, we could verify Hayat's allegations. Kohli was subsequently arrested on Monday night."

During interrogation, Armaan admitted fight with Sofia but denies getting physical with her. Armaan Kohli’s lawyer maintained that as the charges against the actor are bailable, hence he was granted bail.

"All the offences under which Armaan was booked and nabbed for last night are bailable. Accordingly, he was not produced before a court and released in the police station itself this afternoon," advocate Sanjay Wandre said.

Police also required two solvent sureties and for which Armaan’s father and a friend have stood as sureties.

Armaan is back on Bigg Boss 7.
