Arjun Kapoor says he is a flirt in real life


Bollywood actor Arjun Kapoor who is all set to make his television debut with the new season of reality show ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’ said that he is a big time flirt and it is in his nature.

“I fell in love with a lot of people on the show but I won’t go into details… That’s just for fun. I have done some amazing things on the show but that’s for fun. When you have a beautiful girl as ‘Paro’ in front you, of course you will flirt,” the actor said when asked if he found love on his maiden TV show.

“I don’t deny that I flirt with people. So that was natural. Let the rumours spread now, who can stop,” he added.

The ‘Gunday’ actor was speaking at the launch of ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi – Kabhi Peeda Kabhi Keeda’ at the Villa 69 restobar in Mumbai’s Juhu suburb.

Arjun said that while he has hosted live events and award shows in the past, the thrilling ride of being a host for a reality show like this was a different ball-game altogether. He also said that he is an entertainer and the medium did not make a difference.

“We also cannot underestimate television, as we have seen with Amitabh Bachchan-sir and Salman Khan-sir. In fact, if people miss our films in the theaters, they watch them on television,” Arjun said.

The new season of the reality show is held in all new location of Argentina with 14 contestants. They include Tanishaa Mukerji, Sidharth Shukla, Vivan Bathena, Sana Saeed, real-life couple Jay Bhanushali and Mahhi Vij, model Parvathy Omanakuttan, hockey player Yuvraj Walmiki, small screen actors Aishwarya Sakhuja, Tina Dutta and Himanshoo Malhotra, and dance stars Faisal Khan, Mukti Mohan and Raghav Juyal.

The show will premiere this weekend on January 30 on Colors channel.

Continuing the legacy of Akshay Kumar, Priyanka Chopra and Rohit Shetty, the 30-year-old “Gunday” star will make his small screen debut with the seventh season of the stunt/ daredevil reality game show, based on America’s “Fear Factor”.

Arjun Kapoor said he wasn’t apprehensive to come on television as he believes it is an “amazing” medium which should not be underestimated.

“It is an actor’s job to entertain irrespective of the medium, whether it’s a TV screen or a theatre. I am here to entertain people. The power of  TV should never be underestimated, it is amazing. The “Ishaqzade” actor said many stars, from Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan have forayed into TV and done well.

“A star like Amitabh Bachchan did ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ when he was at his prime. Salman, Shah Rukh have done television too. Many stars have emerged from TV and made an impact in films. We shouldn’t have a myopic view. India does love to be entertained on a regular basis,” the actor said.

14 celebrities participating on the show are Tanishaa Mukherjee, Mukti Mohan, Siddharth Shukla, Tina Dutta, Aishwarya Sakhuja, Jay Bhanushali, Sana Saeed, Mahhi Vij, Faisal Khan, Raghav Juyal, Vivan Bhatena, Yuvraj Walmiki, Himanshoo Malhotra and Parvathy Omankauttan.

“Khatron Ke Khiladi” will air on Colors on January 30 at 9 PM.
