Arjun, Alia sizzle in Punjabi track ‘Iski Uski’ from ‘2 States’
Viewers have already enjoyed ‘2 States’ songs — ‘Offo’, ‘Locha-e-ulfat’ and ‘Mast Magan’. The makers now have released yet another song from the movie — ‘Iski Uski’.
This new song ‘Iski Uski’ is a nice romantic and peppy mix sung by Shahid Mallya and Akriti Kakkar. It is in fact quite a vibrant Punjabi wedding song.
The film, which is scheduled to release soon is based on Chetan Bhagat’s novel of the same name and is known to have been inspired by the author’s personal life.
The film is a love story where two IIM students fall in love with each other, but trouble brews when they decide to get married and the implications of the differences in their cultures hit them.
The track starts with Ananya’s introduction with Krish’s family members who don’t get her name right and end up calling her Anayay, which means injustice and make fun of her name. To make her feel comfortable, Krish breaks into a dance and sings.
Where the lyric goes:
Punjab da puttar, hai pind Jalandhar
Yaar wai wai ankhiyon se kill karda
King type da, hai tang life da
Yaar wai wai khetan vich chill karda
Do it my my way, nahi te Highway
Inko farak yaaron ki penda
Iski uski kaun kiski yaaran da imaan whisky
Uspe chicken ho to hor wadhiya
Pretty Pretty face jitthe jatta always utthe
Maamla done ho to hor wadhiya
The music is vibrant and the mood of the song goes along the Punjabi style nacha gaana. Alia is initially seen as an uncomfortable South Indian girl, who is unaware about the loud Punjabi family ways.
But then she breaks into a dance with her fiancé and also shows off some dancing skills to impress him dressed in a yellow Kanjeevaram with gajra, bindi and kamarbandh making a pretty picture.
The song apparently is quite fun and Arjun-Alia once again appear as an adorable pair.
Alia had tweeted about the song, “Who wants the perfect punjabi sangeet song ??? Here it is.”
The film’s producer Karan Johar wrote on the micro blogging site, “...here's the new song from @2StatesMovie! Enjoy.”
Besides Arjun Kapoor, Alia Bhatt in the lead roles, the film features Ronit Roy, Amrita Singh, Shiv Kumar Subramaniam, Revathy and Sharang Natarajan among others.
The soundtrack of the movie is by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, while the lyrics are done by Amitabh Bhattacharya.
The movie is scheduled to release on April 18.
