Anushka Sharma runs into legal trouble, BMC issues notice

Anushka Sharma runs into legal trouble after the ‘Phillauri’ actress was accused of illegal installation of an electric junction box in her building. Former secretary Sunil Batra of the building has registered a complaint against the actress with BMC. He alleges that the actor has installed an electric junction box on the floor passageway and also made other illegal changes in the building.

To prove his point, Sunil has shown the publication a letter written by the K Ward assistant engineer (Building and Factory, BMC). The letter read, “To the owners/occupiers of flat Nos 2001 and 2002, the installation of the electric junction box in the common passage area of society is highly objectionable. You are directed to remove the box otherwise necessary action will be initiated as per the MMC Act.” The letter was issued on April 6.

However, Anushka’s spokesperson has told that all the allegations against the actress are totally baseless. “The actress owns three flats on the 20th floor, and all permissions since 2013 are in place. Anushka and her family are law abiding and responsible citizens and wouldn’t do anything to inconvenience or harm anyone,” the spokesman said.

According to the actress’s spokesperson, Mr Batra was ousted from the position of secretary and in order to regain his position and gain popularity he is making false allegations against the actress. He also added that Sunil Batra has earlier entered into brawl with other residents of the building including Anushka's father.

“He wants to take his personal vendetta into the public domain by throwing around a celebrity’s name, such as Anushka’s, as she is a public figure,” the resident said on the condition of anonymity.
