Anurag Kashyap refuses to talk about wife Kalki

After the Roshans- Hrithik-Sussanne announced their divorce officially, the scanner has shifted to Anurag Kashyap’s rocky relationship with wife Kalki Koechlin. The two had announced their separation last month.

Anurag and Kalki have been making it clear that they are not divorcing. Well, atleast not at present. In the joint statement issued by them last month, the couple said, ‘Me and Kalki are separating. We are taking time off from each other to figure things out. We are not divorcing. We request the media to please respect our privacy and give us our space and not speculate. Thank you, Kalki and Anurag’

Anurag Kashyap was asked by directors at a film event recently whether all was well in his marriage. He refused to answer questions on the issue and asked to be left alone. At the trailer launch of the film, ‘Hasee toh Phasee’, he was seen saying, ‘I don’t think this is the platform to talk about it. I would not like to talk about my personal life on a public platform.’

His appearance at the trailer launch of the film, of which his company is a producer, is apparently his first appearance after his separation in November. Director Anurag Kashyap of ‘Gangs of Wasseypur ’ fame and Kalki Koechlin of ‘Shaitan’ fame fell in love while working together on the film, ‘Dev D’ in 2009. Kashyap was previously married to Aarti Bajaj. He has a daughter with her. On the other hand, this is Kalki’s first marriage.  Kashyap and Kalki got married in April 2011.

Of late, there have been rifts in their marital life. One reason, as per speculation could be the director’s proximity to ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ actress, Huma Qureshi, leading to Kalki calling it quits, although Huma has declared otherwise.

Kalki has been distancing herself from her husband. It was evident when Anurag deleted his Twitter account. People turned to Kalki for answers which she dismissed bluntly by saying, ‘It’s still because I’m still on Twitter that everybody thinks I’m his spokesperson. But I’m not going to keep answering these questions... He’s going through a lot – tax problems and other things. So, I think he just needs his space, which is a great idea because otherwise he is always lashing out and fighting on Twitter. He’s just wasting his energy. It’s great that he’s gone off Twitter.’ Whoa! Everything  really seems to be in trouble here here!
