Ranbir-Katrina split helped ‘Jagga Jasoos’: Anurag Basu
It was said that after Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif broke up, the ex-lovers were giving a tough time to the makers of ‘Jagga Jasoos’ resulting in further delay of the already delayed film. However, the film’s director Anurag Basu has revealed that the lead actors’ split has actually benefitted the film.
Basu said that Ranbir and Katrina gave more to their film ‘Jagga Jasoos’ post their break-up that before. Both the actors became more conscious and more professional after parting ways, the filmmaker told DNA in an interview.
The director, who is currently a judge on kids’ dance reality show ‘Super Dancer’, also revealed that it was him who kept pushing the shoot of the film. He said he shot for only ten days for the film in 2015.
“It was my decision to delay the film. I wanted to take a break. Barfi! had done really well, and for the first time, I earned a lot of money. I wanted to enjoy that and spend time with my family,” Basu said revealing the exact reason for the delay.
He further said, “I realised that my film would release only after Karan Johar’s film ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’, so I thought, ‘Why rush? Let’s take a break’.”
Basu said both Ranbir and Katrina had given dates for shooting in May and then again in August, but he was the one who declined, adding that the actors were very sweet and supported his decision.
‘Jagga Jasoos’ is now slated to hit screens in April next year and the director hopes that people would only talk about the movie and nothing else when they start promoting the film.
