Big Bollywood break: Ankita Lokhande in Bhansali’s ‘Padmavati’

Ankita Lokhande of ‘Pavitra Rishta’ fame has bagged a big Bollywood break. She is going to star in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s periodic drama, ‘Padmavati’. It was not too long when Ankita was spotted at Bhansali’s office and had a brief discussion with about the film.

Deepika Padukone, who earlier worked with Sanjay Leela Bhansali in ‘Bajirao Mastani’ and ‘Ram Leela’ will play the titular role.

At IIFA when Deepika Padukone was asked about the project, she refused to comment on the issue.

"Why don't you ask Sanjay sir? He is here. He will be able to tell you. I think IIFA was a good platform to announce it. But then I don't know. I can't say anything at the moment. It is up to Sanjay to confirm," she told the press at the IIFA Awards.

‘Padmavati’ is based on Chittor's queen who performed Jauhar to evade capture by Alauddin Khilji.

It is almost confirmed that Ranveer Singh will play the male lead. However, there is no any official confirmation about the leading star cast of ‘Padmavati’.

Post break-up with Sushant Singh Rajput, Ankita was looking for a big Bollywood break. In this connection, she also met many filmmakers and finally she bagged a meaty project.

Hope, Ankita’s Bollywood journey with ‘Padmavati’ will be a grand success and she goes a long way in Bollywood.
