Anil Kapoor’s son Harshavardhan enters Bollywood

Anil Kapoor’s son Harshavardhan, fondly called Harsha is all set to make his Bollywood debut. Harsha who has returned from US after completing his screenplay writing and acting course will make his acting debut in Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s movie. Currently, he is learning the craft of film-making and assisting the top-notch filmmakers of Bollywood. But soon he will face the camera.

Director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra who is basking in the joy of ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’ has signed Harshavardhan Kapoor for the romantic saga Mirza Sahiba, based on the famous tragic Punjabi folklore. Confirming the news, Omprakasha Mehra said, “We needed a fresh face and I liked Harsh, as he has the fierce intensity of a lover in him, combined with an innocent softness in his eyes.”

The film is very close to Mehra and he even confirmed drafting the script much before ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’ but the project pushed back. Eminent poet and writer Gulzar is writing the script. He started penning it around three years back, confirms Mehra.

Harshavardhan is busy with his work commitments and hence the love saga will go on floor early 2014 as by this time he will be free and now Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra starts his hunt for Sahiba. The film will also feature Sonam Kapoor and and veteran actress Waheeda Rahman in a pivotal role. Currently, Harsh is assisting Anurag Kashyap in ‘Bombay Velvet’.
