Anil Kapoor to star in American popular comedy series ‘Family Guy’


Anil Kapoor is set to take part in yet another International and his second American project–the American cartoon franchise ‘Family Guy’.

The veteran actor after starring in the Oscar-winning film ‘Slumdog Millionaire’, ‘Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol’ starring Tom Cruise, American TV series ‘24’ as ‘Omar Hassan’, is about to lend his voice for a guest character in the animated comedy show ‘Family Guy’.

According to DNA India the actor is scheduled to travel to Los Angeles next week to begin the new project. The actor has confirmed that his character will be seen with the Griffin family.

"My character will appear with the show's famous Griffin family. It is a new experience for me. And you know how much I like going into new experiences” the actor said.  He will start dubbing for his character of which not much has been disclosed by either the franchise or the actor himself.

The 58 year old whose next Bollywood project is Zoya Akhtar’s Dil Dhadakne Do, said that his children are extremely excited with the new development. It has elevated him in the eyes of his family.

“My children are crazy about the show. They can’t believe I am doing a voice in 'Family Guy',” he said.

Family Guy is a popular American adult animated show. It was first aired in the year 1999 and ever since then it has been having an uninterrupted and successful run. It is the recipient of the prestigious Emmy award.

The animated sitcom is the brainchild of MacFarlane. It has seen the participation of many famous names from Hollywood since inception. Presently Anil Kapoor will have some of the top names from Hollywood as his colleagues working in this project including Mila Kunis, Alex Borstein, Seth Green and Seth MacFarlane himself.

The show is an adult show rife with adult jokes, insults and even violence at certain times. The Griffin family is settled in a fictional city of Quahog in Rhode Island. It is comprised of the parents Peter and Lois and their three children Meg, Chris and Stewie. The family also owns a dog called Brian who can talk like his adoptive human family.

The new feat has attracted many congratulatory notes and good wishes from his colleagues in Bollywood like Farhan Akhtar and Preeti Simones who is the co-producer of the show ‘Comedy Nights With Kapil’.
