Amitabh Bachchan’s duplicates unavailable to shoot with him

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan has already started shooting for his new television show ‘Aaj Ki Raat Hai Zindagi’, but the makers of the show are faced with a peculiar problem.

For one of the acts, Amitabh Bachchan was required to be in the same frame along with his duplicates. However, the makers couldn’t find any duplicates or body-doubles of Big B as all of them had been called to some other towns to attend functions as special guests on the occasion of Amitabh Bachchan’s 73rd birthday which was on Sunday, October 11, according to a report in DNA.

The ‘Piku’ actor began shooting for the show on Monday, October 12, a day after his birthday. The person who co-ordinates the artistes for the show said, “We have a database of actors' doubles and we had one for Amitabh Bachchan too. He has many fans whose body structure is like him. We contacted at least 10 duplicates, but they had all gone out of town to cut cake on his birthday.”

“After a lot of hunting, we finally found one duplicate and shot the sequence with him and sir,” the co-ordinator added.

Amitabh Bachchan found it quite funny that everyone was out, but was also very happy for them, the person said.

The show ‘Aaj Ki Raat Hai Zindagi’ showcases the journeys of people, who went against all odds to help society improve and worked as an inspiration for others to change their outlook, read a statement from Star Plus on which the programme will be telecast. The show is being directed by Ken Ghosh of ‘Ishq Vishk’ fame.

Amitabh Bachchan who began his journey on the small screen with Star Plus and hosted shows like ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ and appeared in Anurag Kashyap’s Yudh, is returning to the channel after a gap of fifteen years.

While nothing much has been revealed about the show, Bollywood celebrities like Shilpa Shetty, Alia Bhatt, Arijit Singh have reportedly visited the sets of the show. However, the purpose of their visit will be known when the show goes on air on October 18.
